About Us

Based in Yellowknife, NT, Acasta HeliFlight provides specialized Northern Canadian VFR helicopter transportation services across all sectors of the regional economy.

Northern spirit

The Acasta Gneiss (pronounced “nice” – the G is silent) is a rocky outcrop on Tlicho land roughly 300 km north of Yellowknife. It’s a type of metamorphosed rock (subjected to intense heat and pressure deep in the Earth’s crust). Using isotopic dating, this rock – named for the nearby Acasta River east of Great Bear Lake – is said to have formed 4 billion years ago making it the oldest known intact piece of the Earth’s crust.

We have deep established roots in Northern Canada and always strive to be the nicest guys in the industry. Who can resist a pun? Thus, Acasta HeliFlight and Home of the Gneiss Guys was born.

Acasta HeliFlight acknowledges, respects, and has the honor of working from Yellowknife (Somba K’e), located in Chief Drygeese Territory. We respect the histories, languages, and cultures of all Indigenous, Metis and Inuit Peoples, whose presence continues to enrich our vibrant community.
